Turtle Fest for 2011 was a tremendous success.  This was the first year that our Lions Club managed the Festival.  A special Thank You to Gary Senske for coordinating this event for our club and the Perham Community.  This was a huge project for the Lions and there were many other goups, clubs and individuals that helped make the Festival a success.  Thank you to all of the Perham Lions members for their help and support.  Thank you to all of the other civic groups and clubs that helped as well.  We have received many good comments from the retailers and residents in Perham.

How about a Huge Lions ROAR for Lion Mark Schmidt.  He just completed his Scooter ride from Moorhead to Target Field in Minneapolis to grant a wish to young Taylor and Make-A-Wish of Minnesota.  We had a goal of $6000 for this wish and as of May 5th, we just exceeded with raising $9200 for this goal.  Not only do I want to thank Mark for his heroic effort, but also Club President Gary Senske for having the vision to see this was a good project and supported it from the start.  Also, another huge thank you goes out to District Governor Jim Arvidson, who not only supported the project thru District 5M9, but got the support of 4 other District Governors from 5M5, 5M7, 5M6 and 5M11.  One other key player who did a ton of work, is Lion Diana Osterfeld, who did all the printing, all the mailing and the email follow thru to all the 325 Club Presidents in those 5 Districts.  So, Perham Lions, pat yourselves on the back, we did a great thing.  Taylor and her family were in Paris for her wish as Mark was Scootin' down the highway.    Great Job!!!
