Lions want everyone to see a better tomorrow.  That's why we support sight programs and services including vision screenings,eye banks and eyeglass recycling.  We provide eye care services to those at risk of losing their sight and raise donations through campaigns like SightFirst  and CampaignSightFirst2. 

In 1925 Helen Keller challenged Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness."  We accepted.  Today, sight programs remain one of our defining causes.Through our efforts, Lions have gained worldwide recognition for our work to improve sight.  We recycle glasses at 17 centers worldwide.  We support Lions Eye Banks, which annually provide quality eye tissue for 30,000 sight-saving surgeries, medical education and eye research.  We screen the vision of hundreds of thousands of people every year.  We provide cataract surgeries and other eye care services to those at risk of losing their sight.

The Perham Lions collect eyeglasses and hearing aids that are no longer needed, are the wrong prescription or that you just don't want anymore.  We recycle by collecting them at various local businesses all year long then bringing them to Mexico.  While there, hundreds of people get fitted with eyeglasses that will allow them to see better.  For some, they will see clearly for the first time in their life. It's an exciting and gratifying project for the Lions.  Hearing aids ultimately end up with people who after determining they are needy, will get the refurbished hearing aids.

Please bring your unwanted eyeglasses and hearing aids to one of these NINE local businesses who have graciously allowed a drop box in their store.  Be sure to thank them for being so generous in helping the Lions with this amazing project.
